Participate

The OpenSTX Foundation is an open, community-driven project – and we invite you to be part of it! Making STX the next big industry standard will require collaboration and input from many voices. Whether you’re an individual enthusiast, a researcher, or representing a company, there are many ways to get involved:

Join the Conversation

Follow OpenSTX news and join our mailing lists to stay up-to-date. We host regular community calls and technical workshops where you can learn about the latest developments and share your ideas. It’s a great way to interact with experts in wireless networking and get your questions answered.

Contribute & Collaborate

OpenSTX’s work happens in the open. You can contribute by participating in a working group of your interest – bring your expertise in coding, protocol design, testing, or documentation. Our reference implementation and tools will be hosted in public repositories (e.g., on GitHub), and we welcome pull requests, issue reports, and new use-case proposals. No contribution is too small; even testing out STX in your own project and giving feedback is extremely valuable.

Become a Member Organization

If your company or institution is invested in the future of IoT, consider officially joining the OpenSTX Foundation. As a member (under the Linux Foundation umbrella), your organization can play a direct role in shaping the standard, gain early access to drafts and testbeds, and collaborate with industry peers. Membership is a chance to influence the direction of STX and ensure it aligns with your use cases. It also demonstrates your leadership in advancing open wireless innovation. (For details on membership levels and benefits, please contact us or refer to our membership page.)

Spread the Word

Even simply evangelizing STX helps the cause. Try out STX-based networking in your projects and share the outcomes. Write a blog post or research article about it, or present it at a meetup or conference. As more people become aware of how STX can solve real problems – like extending battery life of sensors or making control systems more responsive – the momentum for adoption grows. The foundation provides slide decks, demos, and support for anyone interested in showcasing STX technology.
